The ROC-A exam is not difficult. Everything on the exam is taken from the Transport Canada Reference Guide for Private Pilot.
The test was:

Multiple choice
Four options for each question.
25 questions with a pass mark of 70%
Available at the flight school
A test of logic, along with the knowledge from the study guide
What I did 1 week before I took the test:
Set an intention to write the ROC-A and booked a time at the flight school (now it was official - I would need to study)
Read through the Guide (You may need to spend a little extra time memorizing the phonetic alphabet if you are not familiar with the ITU alphabet and pronouncing the transmission of numbers)

I used both of these practice exam until I got perfect. They were my favourite: https://www.myflighttraining.ca/courses/roc-a-practice-exam/quizzes/roc-a-practice-exam/ https://thewisepilot.com/courses/restricted-operator-certificate-with-aeronautical-qualification-roc-a/
